Theraphosa blondi - Goliath Birdeating tarantula

It reminded me of, "only the strong survive."

aahhh it's a goliath birdeater, I've wanted one of those for so long ><~ I love this photo, you've captured so many little details that most people don't even realize spiders have. :+fav:

Brilliant shot, although I can't help but feel sorry for the mouse. ;P

The more people I meet, the more I like rattlesnakes.
:iconrevxus:
Sometimes I do, too. =(

But, I gotta feed 'em!

That's why I won't get a mantis as a pet! I'd have to feed it other insects. :(

how big is she? looks pretty big, considering the average mouse size:) too bad that it's not captured fully.

The old Gods are not dead. They think we are.

Well, you know, most people see a spider and they think "eewww gross, kill it". And they don't really think past that, they don't see things like (on this particular spider) the double hairless streaks on the second two joints of the legs, or those white streaks going outwards from the middle of the cephalothorax, things like that. Those small details are very beautiful, but many people don't even realize it because they're too busy being grossed out.
